UK budget hotel chain releases "Sleep Art" app

While Ibis' chain of cheap-and-cheerful hotels are better-known for function over their artistic merit, it looks like the company is well aware of its cultural standing and has decided to counteract this with a clever new app for iPhones which generates imagery while you bed down for the night.
The app, called Ibis Sleep Art, has been developed by the accommodation chain and Swedish robotics experts Acne, alongside creative boffins at BETC Digital. The art itself is derived from the capturing of movement and sounds from a night's sleep, converting this data into virtual brush strokes. Once you wake up, you're presented with a colourful and vibrant work of art.
To start it up, the iPhone owner sets their alarm clock and plugs it in before placing it on the mattress, much like other circadian rhythm-based apps such as Sleep Alarm. As the user dozes off, all is recorded, while a gentle alarm clock will wake the person up gradually based on sleep cycles. Calmer images mean more relaxed nights of sleep, so you'll be able to tell exactly which daily regimes work best for you!
