Kim and Kanye splash out £750,000 on luxury beds

Limelight-shy wallflowers Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have spent an alleged £750,000 on six luxury beds for their new Bel Air mansion, the Daily Mail reports. The couple, who bought the £7 million home earlier this year, have reportedly bought six of the Royal State Beds – a bed designed by luxury mattress company Savoir in honour of the Queen's diamond jubilee.
Perhaps in consideration of their status as royalty of the celebrity world, the couple bought six of the beds - of which only 60 were made in honour of the diamond jubilee. So what justifies the cost of the Royal State beds, each of which retails at £125,000? Well, each bed takes over 700 hours to make, with every detail being hand-crafted from materials such as Mongolian cashmere and gold silk by the same people who put together Kate Middleton’s wedding dress at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court.
That Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have made such an extravagant purchase is no surprise, especially as previous reports have claimed that the couple have paid £487,000 for gold-plated toilets.
While he didn't explicitly confirm that the couple had bought six of the Royal State beds, managing director of Savoir Alistair Hughes, did comment: "As a rule we never discuss clients' particular orders. Suffice to say, with a bed like this Kim and Kayne will have little excuse to leave their bedroom."
